Position Statement We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Intern to support our Higher Education Engagement initiatives as part of the Education Programs Team. This internship offers graduate students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in program development, data analysis, and student engagement while contributing directly to SEA’s mission of inspiring the next generation of energy leaders. As a Graduate Intern, you will work closely with the Program Manager-Higher Education to accelerate projects central to SEA’s growth, including our Switch Ambassador Network (SAN), supporting university partnerships, and engaging with students and educators worldwide. You will have the chance to coordinate campus events, develop toolkits and resources, analyze program data, and help shape SEA’s new digital community platform. This role is designed for graduate students eager to apply their skills in research, project coordination, and communication within a professional nonprofit setting. Interns will receive mentorship, exposure to SEA’s global network of educators, and energy professionals, and meaningful opportunities for professional development. Key Responsibilities Program Development & Coordination: Support the cultivation, organization, and analysis of higher education contact and program data, ensuring accuracy and scalability for future programming and outreach. Develop toolkits and resources, such as discussion guides, that empower university clubs, ambassadors, and partner institutions. Coordinate impactful campus activities, film screenings, and ambassador events that expand SEA’s presence in higher education. Data Impact & Measurement: Conduct audits of SEA’s higher education program data and contact records, identifying opportunities to strengthen data quality and coverage. Analyze program data to surface insights that inform decisions. Create dashboards and reports that highlight trends, metrics, and growth opportunities. Digital Community Advancement: Support the launch and growth of SEA’s digital community, the Switch Ambassador Network, by coordinating logistics, onboarding users, and facilitating community content and participation. Collect, analyze, and summarize user feedback to shape platform improvements. Assist with designing a feedback loop that ensures the digital community remains responsive, engaging, and impactful. Outreach and Engagement: Support targeted outreach with university clubs, energy institutes, and faculty partners across SEA’s global network through virtual and in-person engagement opportunities. Draft communications and manage follow-ups to foster long-term relationships and participation. Support the design and coordination of year-round engagement opportunities, ensuring students and partners have consistent touchpoints with SEA. Preferred/Required Qualifications: Required: Current graduate enrollment, strong writing skills, project management ability. Demonstrated experience in research, data analysis, or program evaluation (academic or professional). Strong written communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear and accessible content. Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and ability to learn new digital tools quickly. Preferred: Background in education, energy, or nonprofit work a plus. Enrollment in a master’s or PhD program related to: Business, Education, Energy, Policy, or Environmental disciplines. Familiarity with digital platforms, online communities, or learning management systems. Preferred Skills: Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously. Detail-oriented with strong time management skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills for engaging with educators, students, and industry professionals. Experience in managing logistics (e.g. scheduling, tracking timelines, supporting event coordination). Proactive problem-solver who takes initiative, adapts quickly to changing program needs, and finds solutions. Ability to work closely with program managers, educators, and external stakeholders. Team-oriented with a positive attitude and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment. Work Environment & Schedule: Location: Remote, with opportunities for in-person collaboration in our Austin, TX based office. Schedule: Part-Time, 8-12 hours per week. Schedule is flexible and can accommodate academic commitments. Compensation: $22 per hour Note: Part–time employees are not eligible for benefits. Duration: Interns are expected to begin Fall 2025 semester, with the possibility of extension into Spring 2026 semester. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. While the internship is remote, preference is given to those located in or near Austin, Texas, for potential in-person meetings and events. This internship is remote and open to candidates across the United States. Austin, Texas vicinity is a plus but not required.
