Performs routine (journey-level) clerical work in areas such as digitization of historic documents and maps, inventory control, image processing, and statistics specifically related to the work of the Heritage Department and the Archives and Records Division of the Texas General Land Office. Work involves compiling and tabulating data, checking documents for accuracy, transporting documents, and maintaining files. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. What Your Contributions to the GLO Will be: Assists with some of the Heritage Departments essential duties and other special projects as needed. Appraises, organizes, and processes archival collections in paper-based or electronic formats that may include materials such as photos, recordings, videos, and other documents. Identifies, analyzes, and arranges records; prepares inventories, indexes, and finding aids that facilitate staff and public access to records. Operates, adjusts, maintains, and determines proper settings for scanning and imaging equipment in the Scan Lab, and inspects scan jobs, QCs (quality control), OCRs (optical character recognition) images, creates PDFs to ensure adherence to standards, posts the images to the GLO’s Web page, and/or arranges the delivery of the finished jobs.
