The scope and complexity of environmental laws and regulations applicable to the oil and gas industry will also be reviewed, as well as how a large independent exploration and production company has evolved in its management of environmental compliance and sustainability in the face of complex regulatory schemes and both local and global community considerations. Finally, recent innovations in environmental management and what future energy and environmental policies impacting the oil and gas industry may lie ahead will be discussed.
