Each fall, the KBH Energy Center hosts its highly anticipated Energy-Finance Case Competition, bringing together top students from across campus to tackle complex energy-related financial challenges. This competition provides a unique opportunity for students to showcase their analytical skills, strategic thinking, and understanding of the energy sector, all while competing for prestigious awards and recognition.
The Energy-Finance Case Competition challenges teams of students to develop comprehensive solutions to a real-world energy finance problem. Participants are asked to analyze financial data, consider market dynamics, and propose strategies that address current issues in the energy industry—whether it be investment opportunities, risk management, or market trends. The competition is open to graduate and undergraduate students from across campus. Teams are typically composed of 3 students, and participants should have a background in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field. While prior experience in energy finance is not required, a strong interest in the energy sector is encouraged.
