All costs, including travel and accommodations, are covered by the KBH Energy Center.
Each year in the fall, students visit Dallas to gain insights into the intersection of energy and finance. The city’s thriving energy sector, particularly in private equity, investment banking, and energy trading, offers an unmatched learning environment. During this trek, students meet with financial leaders, attend panel discussions, and explore the role of finance in energy markets. This trek is ideal for students interested in the business side of the energy industry, particularly energy investments and financial strategy.
The Midland trek, held in the fall, offers students an exciting mix of networking and hands-on experience. Students attend the renowned Daniel Energy Partners BBQ Cookoff Event, where they connect with professionals from across the energy industry in a relaxed, informal setting. Beyond the cookoff, students visit operational sites in Midland to gain an understanding of the energy production process from exploration to production. This trek is designed for those interested in the technical and field-side aspects of energy development.
In the spring, students travel to Houston for the THRIVE Conference, where they have the opportunity to dive deep into the latest advancements and future trends in energy technology and sustainability. Students attend the conference, where thought leaders, innovators, and professionals share their insights on energy transition, smart grid technology, and more. In addition to the conference, students visit leading companies in the Houston energy sector, offering them an inside look at how industry giants are shaping the future of energy. This trek provides a platform for students to engage in meaningful conversations, learn from industry leaders, and explore the latest technologies shaping the future of energy.
The spring energy-trading trek to Houston is specifically designed for students interested in the financial and strategic aspects of energy markets.
